John Oldweiler

Founder & President

John Oldweiler

John’s journey in the Restaurant and Hospitality Industry kicked off in Boston in 1987, where he seasoned his skills in several restaurants. He didn’t just wear the chef’s hat; he dabbled in various back-of-the-house (BOH) roles and even took on front-of-the-house duties.


Over the years, John has mastered BOH restaurant management, becoming a pro in multi-unit, multi-state purchasing, systems development, program design, contract negotiation, and manufacturer partnerships. He’s been there, whether it’s launching or running large restaurants spanning over ten thousand feet to unique multi-concept food courts. His expertise extends to multi-regional distribution setups, gaming, and hotel restaurant locations.

Long before ChefMod sizzled into existence, John was already sourcing ingredients for friends’ restaurants, championing independent restaurateurs who often lacked resources for business-class solutions. Many of those friends are still part of the ChefMod family today. When he’s not stirring up solutions, or enjoying family time, you’ll find him carving slopes or cycling through miles of country roads.

Eduard Spivak

Eduard brings extensive experience in orchestrating business processes, seamlessly integrating systems, and constructing cutting-edge technology platforms, all from concept to the final market-ready product. His talented team of software and network engineers ensures that ChefMod’s technology remains at the forefront of innovation.

Ed’s profound understanding of technologies and their practical applications not only benefits ChefMod members but also serves the vendor community that supports our group. Prior to ChefMod, he spent a decade at Sterling Infosystems, where he led a team of software developers in constructing a technology platform for pre-employment screening. His system not only automated over 80% of internal processes but also catapulted revenue by 20 times.

When Ed isn’t navigating the digital realm with his tech-savvy team, he enjoys savoring quality time with his family at home, diving into captivating books, and indulging in spy movies on Netflix.

As a Member Service Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of managing daily customer relations and ensuring seamless order requisition and fulfillment. Join us if you’re a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a strong background in exemplary customer service, preferably with 2+ years in the foodservice industry or 5+ years in customer service. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills are a must. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Our Purchasing Managers are instrumental in cultivating existing supplier relationships, conducting data analysis to uncover new opportunities, and optimizing supplier programs. To thrive in this role, you should possess a minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience, strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications is essential, and a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

To thrive in this role, you should possess a minimum of 3 years of date entry experience in hospitality or foodservice related industries. Must have strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications is essential, and a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
